Benefits of Massage

There are many benefits of massage for your body, as well as for your mind, which most people tend to forget. Have you ever woken up in the morning at realized that your body just feels more achy today then it did the day before? Do you know why that is? Well, more than likely the day before you had some pretty intense work, or for some…drinking. During the night when you go to sleep your body tries to heal itself and pushes out many of the toxins into the muscles, which does tend to cause this ‘achy feeling’  One of the many benefits of massage is that getting a massage tends to reverse this effect.

When you get a massage your muscles are worked in a way that drives toxins from your muscles and back into your blood stream where the body can eliminate those toxins through urination, breath, and even sweat. For a lot of clients receiving their first massage, this process itself tends to be a bit different as well. You’ll most likely feel a slight headache, possible grogginess, and even maybe a bit of light headedness after your first massage because of all these toxins entering your bloodstream moments after your massage.

Is having a headache a bad thing after your massage? Well, yes and no. Yes, because who really likes having a headache in the first place right? I certainly don’t and I’d imagine you don’t either. On the other side of this is your body getting rid of toxins and leaving your muscles feeling better, your body feeling stronger, and your nervous system more relaxed. So, yeah to that right?

Massage for your Health

Massage is a great thing for your health because it allows your body to heal in many directions all within a singular treatment. For instance, most people feeling stressed out look to massage for it’s calming effect on their mind, but little do they know that that calming effect actually started with their bodies nervous system calming down and then producing a chemical that allows their minds to feel calm as well.

The most important thing you have to remember about massage is that it’s not a one time and done type of thing. To keep your body at its optimum performance lever it’s a great idea to receive massage 1 time per week, and at the very least…1 time per month.
