It’s important in today’s word that you care for yourself. For you, self care may be finding a bit of time away from work, stress, and the ‘daily grind’ to just simply slip away and be quiet. There are a lot of ways to care for yourself, which is something that should not be simply overlooked or ignored. We tend to live rushed in our lives, rushed for time, rushed for income, rushed for far too many reasons than we could dare slow down to pay attention to.
It’s sad, in a way, that we have become too busy for the world to remember that we ourselves are an important part of it. That we too need to care for ourselves to have balance and peace. That when you care for yourself, you truly learn to care for others and the larger world around you as well. Simple things, like waking a bit early a few days a week to enjoy a coffee while watching the sunrise can charge us up for the busy day ahead.
A particular favorite way to relax for me is by enjoying the radio while I work listening to Pandora or another one of my favorite online radio stations. For you, maybe its something more physical such as receiving a massage or taking a walk outside along the beach. I’ve known quite a few people that tend to care for themselves by placing themselves in a hobby that enriches them mentally as well as spiritually. These are all great options, but the important thing to realize is that you are important and it’s important that you take care of you at times.
How do you take care of yourself in your busy life? What is it that you do to truly get away from the world and enjoy you? If you’ve never really thought much about the importance of taking care of yourself up until today, it’s probably a good time to start.
