Our Massage & Spa History
Thai Banyan Massage and Spa Honolulu has been in business since December 2010. We originally started out as an idea to bring Traditional Thai Massage to the Islands of Hawaii. With that, we’ve now grown to add additional service ranging from Skin Care to many types of Unique Massage Services.
What is noticeable by most of our clients is that fact that we appear to be a well established company due to the depth and maturity of the services we offer our clients. This is no accident and is truly the heartbeat of our company and what allows us to grow forward in an open fashion. Because we are a family owned and operated company we can truly make ‘real time’ corrections and adjustments that truly meet and exceed our clients expectations. This has always played in our favor because we’ve never had to wait for corporate approval to make corrections and add additional services. We can implement small changes, suggested services, and added value within the same day a client makes a particular request.
Why Thai Banyan Massage & Spa
We’ve had a lot of people ask us about the history of our name and logo. To give you a brief background we chose the name because the two founders of the company wanted to bring two unique things together under one roof. The word “Thai” was implemented because one founder is originally from Thailand and the name signifies her roots, homeland, and focus in which we started the Spa.
The “Banyan” part of the logo was chosen because the 2nd founder had always loved the unique nature of the Banyan Trees that cover many of the Hawaiian Islands. These trees have a history of being some of the biggest and widest trees because as they grow out, they plant their own new roots to support growth and continue to do so over and over again. These are the same trees many of the locals and tourists of Hawaii enjoy as they pretend to be Tarzan while swinging on the rope-like branches.
Together, with the focus of Thai and the beautiful growth of the Banyan Tree, we’ve come together to form Thai Banyan.
